THE LIMBO OF HOTSPOTS AND RELOCATION PRACTICES
The achievement of the Malta deal, which will regulate the automatic distribution of asylum seekers within the EU member states, has been celebrated as a success. However, the situation inside the Sicilian hotspots continues to deteriorate.
Long waiting times for redistribution – up to three months –, lack of medical and psychological support, absence of legal aid and complete inexistence of mediators. These are only a few of the critical points signaled from inside the hotspots.
