Boat arrives in Pozzallo, the 61 Eritreans aboard are transferred to Portopalo
The 61 Eritrean migrants, who arrived near the port of Pozzallo on the evening of the 2nd June, have been transferred to a recreation centre belonging to the Parish of San Gaetano of Portopalo di Capopassero.
According to the port authorities, the transfer occurred during the day on Sunday. The migrants, 17 of whom are women and 2 minors, arrived just down the coast from Pozzallo in the early evening. They were transferred from their worn out boat to a vessel of the Pozzallo coast guards and taken ashore. General health is said to be good with only one of the women, who is pregnant, being taken to hospital in Modica by ambulance.
